Paleochora is a pleasant all-year-round town with a steady population of over 2,000, not taking into account the many smaller villages in the area.
There are most facilities that you’d expect to see in a town of this size - doctors, dentists and a paediatrician; a post office, banks, ATM’s pharmacies, supermarkets, hairdressers, as well as a seasonal range of clothing and gift shops or fish and nail spa.
For eating out there are an abundance of cafes and restaurants offering a great selection. The choice may become overwhelming, do you decide on fresh fish, traditionl meat or vegetarian dishes, something a little different, or visit one of the excellent pizza places with fresh home-made dough and cooked in a traditional olive wood oven?
There are bars offering music, sport tv, cocktails and so on, many are open well into the night, so revellers are well catered for. When it comes time to buy presents, for yourself or friends and family, the gift shops with jewellery, clothes, ceramics, olive oil, soaps, organic produce, traditional woven items etc., should give you enough choice, maybe leaving you with the problem as to how you will carry them all home.....!
